Organization of support for parents of children with special educational needs at school

Abstract

Deviations in the development of their own child cause the emergence of severe stress in parents, devastating the moral and psychological reserves of adults. Therefore, special programs to support parents are necessary. Aim: to study the level of stress and its negative impact on the mental and physical health of parents of special children and to develop a program to support parents. Methodology and research methods. At the first stage of the study, express diagnostic data showed a low stress level in most respondents. However, during the second stage, a questionnaire revealed the presence of high and medium stress levels, as well as their pathological impact on the psychosomatic state of the parents surveyed. At the third stage, we developed and tested a special program to support parents. Results and scientific novelty. The results obtained to a certain extent reflect the current state of the problem of parental stress in families of special children and contain data that allowed us to develop a program to support parents. Practical significance. A program and recommendations for organizing support for parents were developed, which can be used by teachers and specialists in the process of implementing inclusive education.
