The article examines the experience of integrating art-based technologies into the development of leadership competence among university students. The main purpose of the study is to identify the theoretical and methodological foundations for fostering leadership potential—considered a key indicator of the professional competence of future teachers—and to outline practical approaches for its implementation. A theoretical and practical analysis of recent scholarly works revealed that art-based technologies contribute to the development of students’ leadership competence by enhancing their personal growth, stimulating creative potential, strengthening teamwork skills, and promoting social engagement.
A one-group experimental model was employed as the methodological basis of the study. During the experiment, various methods incorporating art-based technologies were used to develop students’ leadership competence, including training sessions, role-playing activities, creative workshops, visual arts practices, and theatrical performances. These methods effectively contributed to strengthening students’ initiative, building shared responsibility, developing creative thinking, and improving organizational skills. The experiment results clearly demonstrated that the integration of art-based technologies into the educational process can effectively foster leadership competence among university students when implemented purposefully and systematically. The initial (pre-test) diagnostics indicated that most students displayed an average level of leadership skills. However, the post-test assessment following the intervention showed significant positive changes across all major components—initiative, organizational capacity, communication, decision-making, and emotional stability. Art-based technologies were found to increase students’ creative engagement, enhance teamwork, improve emotional self-regulation, and strengthen confidence in professional decision-making, demonstrating a positive dynamic in the development of leadership competence.
The purpose of the study is to determine the changes in leadership competence among university students through the integration of art-based technologies into the educational process.
