Abstract

Patriotic education of the younger generation is regarded as one of the key areas of modern educational policy and a fundamental condition for the sustainable development and prosperity of the state. In the context of shifting societal priorities, the content of patriotic education requires rethinking, taking into account the specific needs of various categories of learners.

The family, as one of the primary social institutions, plays a particularly significant role in shaping patriotic values among primary school children with hearing impairments. This study aims to identify the role of the family in the patriotic education of this student group, using folklore as a means of moral and spiritual development.

The article explores the essential characteristics of the concepts «patriotism», «patriotic education», «family's role» and «folklore». It analyzes the scientific approaches of both domestic and foreign researchers and examines their applicability to the patriotic upbringing of hearing-impaired primary schoolchildren.

The methodological basis of the study includes a theoretical analysis of scientific literature and the empirical method of a questionnaire survey, which made it possible to determine the content and features of folklore use in family education. The study involved 60 parents of hearing-impaired primary school students. The results made it possible to identify promising directions for enhancing the effectiveness of patriotic education within the family setting.

The presented materials can be used in the practical work of educators in special (correctional) educational institutions, primary school teachers, and specialists working in the field of special education.
