Abstract

In the era of environmental disasters and increasing anthropogenic pressure on natural ecosystems, the task of forming future biology teachers not only professional, but also ecological and pedagogical competencies is being actualized. This article is devoted to the analysis of methods and approaches to the integration of ecological and pedagogical competencies into the process of teaching students in the specialty "Training of biology teachers". Modern education requires biology teachers not only to have deep knowledge in the field of biology and ecology, but also the ability to apply this knowledge to form an ecological culture among students. The development of ecological and pedagogical competence is a key aspect in the training of specialists who are able to demonstrate the relationship between man and nature, as well as methods of rational nature management, using the example of biology. The study used both qualitative and quantitative methods of analysis, including questionnaires, interviewing teachers and students, as well as an analysis of the curricula of leading universities in Kazakhstan. Special attention is paid to the integration of environmental education into the educational process, starting with lecture material and ending with practical classes and research work of students. The work was carried out on the basis of the Korkyt ata Kyzylorda University. The study showed that the inclusion of ecological and pedagogical components in the training programs for biology teachers contributes to increasing the level of environmental awareness and readiness of future teachers to form an ecological culture among schoolchildren. The main problems and barriers to the integration of environmental education were identified, and ways to overcome them were proposed.
